Classmate Interview- Rachel Jarrot

Since spring break just occurred and Rachel flew back and forth between here and Los Angeles, I thought I’d interview her about her first time flying alone. She was six years old at the time and she was flying from LA to Washington DC. A specific flight attendant was assigned to watch over her since she was underage. But at the time, Rachel didn’t like strangers telling her what to do, which is pretty understandable. The flight attendant told Rachel not to leave her side so when she turned around, Rachel basically ran away and was determined to find the terminal on her own. She just kept roaming around despite the fact that the intercom was repeatedly calling for her. Little did Rachel remember, the flight attendant had her ticket so she did in fact need to find her again. The flight attendant didn’t respond well to Rachel running away so she called Rachel’s mom and said that she shouldn’t let Rachel travel alone because most people wouldn’t handle the situation as nicely as she had. “Looking back at it, I think it’s pretty funny. I mean c’mon, I was six years old. You can’t really get mad at a little kid” Rachel went on to say. The trip ended with the flight attendant having a sassy attitude towards Rachel’s cousins in DC. Needless to say, traveling is a lot let of a wild goose chase now that Rachel’s older.
